Tree Profile Instructions

Submit Tree Data - Descriptions and Images

The Tree Input Form is available from the main menu at the top of the page: Trees > Tree Profiles (hover) > Tree Input Form. You can also access the form by clicking here.

  • Start a new profile. If you don't see a particular tree listed, you can start the record with a new listing using the Tree Input Form described above.
  • Add to an existing record. If fields are incomplete or lacking in a photo or other image, you can use the Tree Input Form to submit your contribution. Please note, all areas for each tree (bark, leaves, buds, etc.) are set up to include an image.You will see the option for adding images when viewing the Tree Input Form.
  • Correct an existing record. We expect to make some mistakes, and we believe that our tree profiles can be improved. If you would like to correct a tree profile, you can
    • Use the comment feature at the bottom of the record to describe the recommended changes
    • Use the Tree Input Form to make the recommended changes.
Required Fields - We have only made the "common name" field required because we would  be happy to have you take your best shot at giving a good start on a tree's details. However, we ask that you provide as much information as possible. This will be an ongoing process, and all registered users will have the opportunity to contribute descriptions and photos.
